September Has Flown By!

I feel like I say this for every month, but September flew by in the blink of an eye! The leaves have all been shed from the trees where I live, and the chill creeps into the day, reminding us that the winter months are coming. This means lots of cozy sweaters, boots and scarves, and tons of coffee and tea!

This month has been filled with oil paints, and I am happy. Playing with texture and colour has been a joy, and I can't wait to keep exploring with this medium!

While I have been lucky enough to sneak some extra time in to work on some personal projects, commission work has been taking up most of my art time! Just a little reminder that the months approaching Christmas are always jam packed with people ordering custom paintings, so be sure to contact me early enough with your commission requests in order to snag a spot before they are all taken up!

October comes with a couple of treats for me at the end of the month, C4 and Halloween!
The Central Canada Comic Con takes place on October 28-30th, so come say hi! I'm super excited to see you all!

September Highlights Top Left: Prepping of a few small canvases for some swirling commissions. Top Right: This month I popped a free gift into all of my original paintings that were mailed off around the world. I pay close attention to my packaging, I want my customers to feel like they are opening a present, complete with free goodies! Bottom Left: Sometimes there are certain processes that are a treat, and creating gorgeously crisp lines with masking methods is a huge treat for me. Methodically laying down that tape, slapping paint down and peeling it carefully away to reveal beautiful lines makes me incredibly happy. Bottom Right: Results of masking tape for lines!

What is your favourite season, and why?

I will forever be a summer girl. Summer is filled with green and life and energy, whereas winter is quite the opposite. Then again, I live in an area that experiences some incredibly drastic temperature changes. While our summers can be beautiful and toasty, they are not nearly enough to make up for the nastiness that we endure during the winter months, which can easily be half of our year. Fun fact, an area of Mars was named after my hometown due to the harsh cold.
So summer fuels my inspiration with its vibrancy and life, while winter puts it to sleep, preferably under a pile of warm blankets.

So what is your favourite season, and why?
